Effective October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Amerie mobile application, website, and related services. By using Amerie or creating an optional account, you agree to these Terms and the Amerie Privacy Policy.
Amerie is an educational U.S. naturalization-preparation tool. It is not legal advice, is not affiliated with USCIS, and does not guarantee any immigration or naturalization outcome.
Amerie helps users prepare for U.S. naturalization through civics study, interview practice, speaking and writing practice, a Full Mock Interview, preparation tracking, and related educational features.
Amerie is not USCIS, the U.S. government, a law firm, an attorney, or an accredited representative. Amerie does not provide legal advice, make legal eligibility determinations, file immigration forms for you, predict USCIS decisions, or guarantee approval of any application.
You should verify important filing requirements, deadlines, forms, and case-specific questions directly with USCIS or a qualified immigration attorney or accredited representative.
Amerie is an independent educational product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.
Official civics questions, government information, forms, procedures, and naturalization requirements may change. Amerie may update content over time, but you remain responsible for checking official sources when accuracy is important.
You can use Amerie without creating an account. The core preparation experience is designed to store your preparation progress on your device rather than in an Amerie backend database.
Because your preparation progress is stored locally, it may be lost if you delete Amerie, erase or reset your device, lose access to your device, or move to another device. Amerie does not currently promise automatic cloud backup, cross-device synchronization, or restoration of device-local preparation progress.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your device, including your device passcode and operating-system security settings.
Amerie may allow you to create or sign in to an optional account. An account is not required to use the core preparation experience.
Optional account authentication is provided through Clerk. If you create an account, information needed for authentication and account security may be processed by Clerk under its own terms and privacy practices.
Creating an account does not mean that your Amerie preparation progress is backed up to that account. Your preparation records remain device-local and do not automatically transfer to another device when you sign in.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, you should secure your credentials and contact Amerie support.
Amerie may store preparation information on your device, including eligibility and preparation results, state and district settings, naturalization timeline information, checklist progress, civics study progress, bookmarks, quiz history, interview-practice progress, Full Mock results, language settings, and other information you enter while using the app.
Amerie uses local security measures described in the Amerie Privacy Policy, including encrypted local storage and iOS security features for sensitive preparation records.
Your use of Amerie is also subject to the Amerie Privacy Policy, available at https://www.amerie.org/privacy-policy.
Amerie may allow you to answer interview-practice questions by speaking. Current interview-practice and Full Mock speaking responses are designed to be recognized and graded on-device.
Raw microphone audio is not intentionally uploaded to Amerie servers for interview grading. Practice scores and feedback may be inaccurate and are intended only to help you prepare.
Amerie cannot verify that personal facts you provide during practice are true. A score or practice result does not represent or predict how USCIS or a USCIS officer will evaluate you.
Amerie provides educational practice materials intended to help users prepare for naturalization. Some official or public government content may be included or referenced where appropriate.
Practice questions, explanations, writing prompts, reading prompts, scoring, and study tools may contain mistakes or become outdated. Amerie does not guarantee that any particular practice session will match the exact questions or format used in a real USCIS interview.
You may use Amerie for lawful personal, educational, and preparation purposes.
You may not attempt to interfere with Amerie’s security or operation, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, abuse automated or network features, introduce malicious code, use Amerie for unlawful or fraudulent activity, or intentionally use the service in a way that harms other users, Amerie, or third-party services.
You may not copy, sell, redistribute, or commercially exploit Amerie’s original software, design, branding, or proprietary content except where allowed by law or with written permission.
Amerie’s original software, interface, design, branding, graphics, text, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Amerie or its intellectual property to you.
Official government materials, public-domain materials, and third-party content remain subject to their own rights and legal status. Amerie does not claim ownership of U.S. government materials that are not owned by Amerie.
Amerie relies on or may link to third-party services, including Apple services and Clerk for optional authentication.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, availability, and legal obligations. Amerie is not responsible for third-party websites, services, outages, content, or actions outside Amerie’s control.
Use of the iOS application is also subject to applicable Apple App Store terms and any end-user license terms that apply to apps distributed through the App Store.
Amerie provides a Delete Preparation Data option for removing local preparation records from the device.
If you created an optional account, deleting preparation data does not by itself delete that account. Amerie provides a separate Delete Account option for deleting the optional authentication account.
Deleting the Amerie app from your device should not be treated as a substitute for using the available in-app deletion controls when you want to remove local preparation data or an optional account.
Amerie may change, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features, content, or services at any time.
Some features may depend on your device, iOS version, permissions, network connection, or third-party services. Amerie does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Amerie may update these Terms when the product, legal requirements, or services change. The effective date at the top of this document will be updated when material changes are made.
Schools, nonprofits, citizenship programs, legal-services organizations, and other organizations may allow participants to test or use Amerie.
Unless Amerie separately agrees otherwise in writing, those organizations do not receive access through Amerie to a participant’s device-local preparation history.
Organizations may impose their own consent, supervision, participation, or device-use rules. Those rules are separate from these Terms.
You may stop using Amerie at any time.
Amerie may suspend or terminate access to account-based or online portions of the service if reasonably necessary to protect users, address misuse or security concerns, comply with law, or respond to a material violation of these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amerie is provided “as is” and “as available.” Amerie does not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for every user or purpose.
Amerie does not guarantee any particular USCIS, immigration, naturalization, educational, testing, or interview outcome.
Nothing in Amerie creates an attorney-client relationship or other professional advisory relationship.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amerie and its developers, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of Amerie, including loss of local preparation data, progress, opportunity, profits, or goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
Amerie may respond to valid legal process as required by applicable law.
Amerie’s local-first design is intended to reduce the amount of sensitive preparation information Amerie possesses in backend systems. These Terms do not promise that information is immune from lawful access or legal process.
Third-party providers, Apple, or information stored on a user’s device may be subject to separate legal requests under applicable law.
If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms on your own in your jurisdiction, you should use Amerie only with the involvement or permission of a parent, guardian, or responsible organization where required.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer, privacy, or other legal rights that cannot be waived by contract.
